Product Operations and Marketplace Growth: the March edition
In March 2026, Pinnacle Product Institute welcomed Jenny Wanger and Ben Lauzier to speak with our audience as part of Product Conversations. This edition connected the practices that help product teams work effectively with the challenges of growing a marketplace and measuring its performance.
Why these perspectives belonged together
Marketplace growth creates choices across product, operations and commercial teams. Good decisions require clear responsibilities, useful information and an understanding of the needs of both sides of the platform. We selected these two perspectives to connect team collaboration with the product and growth questions a scaling marketplace faces.
Jenny Wanger — Team collaboration and effective product operations
We invited Jenny to bring an operational perspective to product effectiveness. Her expertise was relevant to our audience’s questions about reducing friction between teams, improving access to useful information and creating ways of working that support decisions as an organisation grows.
Ben Lauzier — Scaling platforms and measuring marketplace health
We invited Ben to connect growth ambitions with the realities of a marketplace. His experience was relevant to practitioners balancing supply and demand, identifying constraints on transactions and choosing measures that reveal whether a platform is becoming more useful for its participants.
Connecting ways of working with platform performance
The pairing gave this edition a focus on two related questions: how can teams organise their work more effectively, and how can they judge whether marketplace growth creates value? For product practitioners, the connection is practical. Shared definitions and clearer collaboration can help teams investigate platform constraints, agree priorities and interpret performance consistently.
Questions to carry into your own practice
Where does your team lose time because ownership or information is unclear? Which side of your marketplace faces the greatest friction? What measure would reveal whether participants are finding a useful match? How could a change in the way your team works improve the decisions behind growth? These are Pinnacle’s editorial reflection questions, rather than quotations or a transcript of the speakers’ remarks.
Continuing Product Conversations
The March edition continued our 2026 series of conversations with product experts whose perspectives complement one another. The companion Product Expert Feature introduces Jenny and Ben and explains why each was invited. Their previous appearances are also part of our archive: Jenny’s August 2025 feature and Ben’s June 2025 feature.
We thank Jenny Wanger and Ben Lauzier for joining Pinnacle’s audience in March 2026.
