An April conversation with four product voices

In April 2025, Pinnacle Product Institute welcomed Lenny Rachitsky, Gibson Biddle, John Cutler and Bruce McCarthy to speak with our audience as part of Product Conversations. Their participation brought together four complementary perspectives relevant to product managers: practical growth, strategic choices, evidence-led development and roadmap alignment.

Why we brought these perspectives together

Product decisions rarely sit inside one discipline. A growth opportunity needs a clear customer problem. A strategy needs choices. Evidence needs interpretation. A roadmap needs people who understand and support the direction. This speaker line-up connected those concerns and gave the edition a coherent product-management focus.

Lenny Rachitsky — Product management, growth and careers

Lenny’s background at Airbnb and his practical product writing made him a relevant voice for the relationship between customer value, growth and career development. We invited him to connect the webinar with questions product managers encounter in their everyday work.

Gibson Biddle — Product strategy and business choices

Gibson’s experience at Netflix and Chegg, together with his teaching of product strategy, made him a strong fit for the strategic dimension of the event. His invitation reflected our aim to make business choices and product priorities understandable to our audience.

John Cutler — Evidence, collaboration and product development

John’s writing on the complexity of product development provided a complementary lens on evidence, collaboration and team conditions. We invited him to ensure the edition represented the realities of product work alongside the clarity of strategic frameworks.

Bruce McCarthy — Strategic roadmaps and stakeholder alignment

Bruce’s work at Product Culture and his writing on roadmaps connected the edition with direction-setting and stakeholder alignment. We invited him to help frame why a roadmap should communicate strategic intent rather than simply list work.

Questions to carry into your own practice

The perspectives behind this edition offer useful prompts for reflection: What customer value sits behind your growth goal? Which choice makes your strategy distinctive? What evidence could change your plan? Can stakeholders explain the intended outcome behind your roadmap? These are Pinnacle’s editorial reflection questions, rather than quotations or a transcript of the webinar.

Continuing Product Conversations

The April edition formed part of our continuing series of product management conversations. Product Expert Feature introduces the speakers and explains why they were invited; the companion webinar posts connect those introductions with each edition. Future features will continue to bring relevant experience and emerging perspectives to our community.
