Leading Through Digital Disruption: the September edition

In September 2025, Pinnacle Product Institute welcomed Ravi Mehta, Jiaona Zhang, Oyama Nzan and Crystal Widjaja to speak with our audience as part of Product Conversations. This edition connected the leadership choices behind digital disruption with team structures, innovation inside established organisations and product analytics.

Why these perspectives belonged together

Preparing for disruption involves more than adopting a new tool. Organisations need a direction, teams able to act on it, space to challenge existing practices and evidence that their changes are useful. We selected the speakers to represent these connected concerns and make the edition relevant to practitioners and leaders navigating change.

Ravi Mehta — Effective teams and product strategy for the AI era

We invited Ravi to frame the leadership challenge behind digital disruption. His perspective was relevant to product managers and leaders seeking to identify where their strategy needs to change and what their teams need in order to act on it.

Jiaona Zhang — Product foundations, team structures and AI

We invited Jiaona to connect AI-era strategy with the way product teams are organised and supported. Her perspective helped frame why new tools should prompt thoughtful choices about responsibilities and collaboration, rather than simply accelerating existing habits.

Oyama Nzan — Internal innovation and readiness for disruption

We invited Oyama to ground the discussion in organisational change from the inside out. His JLR perspective was relevant to an audience considering how to recognise opportunities, challenge existing ways of working and prepare for disruption before it becomes an urgent external pressure.

Crystal Widjaja — User behaviour and evidence-informed decisions

We invited Crystal to connect the edition’s strategic and organisational questions with evidence. Her perspective was relevant to assessing whether a change improves customer value, how people actually use a product and which measures deserve attention.

The internal-innovation perspective

Oyama’s contribution to the speaker line-up drew on the innovation experience at JLR described in his profile. That perspective connected the edition with an important question for established organisations: how to build readiness for change from within.

Questions to bring into your organisation

Where could AI change the value your product provides? Does your team structure support the decisions you now need to make? Which internal practice most needs to be challenged? What customer behaviour would demonstrate that your innovation is useful? These are Pinnacle’s editorial reflection questions, not quotations or a transcript of the speakers’ remarks.

Continuing Product Conversations

The September edition continued the series’ focus on practical product questions and complementary industry perspectives. The companion Product Expert Feature introduces the guests and explains why each was invited. Future editions will continue connecting product leadership with the realities of building and improving technology products.
